Our Gardens

At Little Swans, we have two gated gardens for the children to explore the natural world around them. There are defined areas within the gardens alongside space for free play and ride along toys.

Home Corner

We have a large wooden house with a mud kitchen beside it. The children love to use this house to play games, talk, and tell stories. We have small wooden cave across the garden as well, they love to retell the bear hunt using these together. The kitchen has a range of saucepans and plastic play food for them to cook up a feast!

Sensory Garden

We have planted a sensory garden in a old tractor tyre, this is home to wildflowers and scented plants including Mint, Lemon, Rosemary and thyme. The children love rubbing their fingers on the leaves to smell them. In the summer, we trim the plants for potion making!

Sand Area

We have a square sandpit that allows for small groups to play within. The children love making sandcastles, birthday cakes and mark making in the sand. They also enjoy using the small brushes to help keep the area clean and tidy.

Memorial Benches

Both our gardens have to large benches for staff and children to share. These are perfect for chatting and sharing stories. These benches are in memory of two influential people who's dedication and support contributed to Little Swans success.

We have a pirate boat, a shop area and a bean cave. These areas allow the children to ignite their imagination making up stories and games together such as sharks, Mcdonalds and the cave gives them a space to talk and read together.

The Playground

We are very lucky to have been able to extend our garden space. We have a  climbing frame with slide that the children can use to challenge themselves physically. This playground has a bucket pully which promotes teamwork as they work out how to use it together.
